Amazon lily

It is important to water an Amazon lily (Eucharis amazonica) thoroughly but sparingly, as too much water can lead to root rot and fungus. Generally, the soil should be kept moist, but not saturated. In ideal conditions, this species requires watering no more than once per week. A good practice is to water until the soil just begins to feel damp to the touch, and if less frequently, allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. During the warmer, sunnier months of spring and summer, the Amazon lily may require more frequent waterings.

Amazon lilies require a good amount of sunlight in order to thrive and produce flowers. These plants should receive a minimum of 4 hours of partial sun (dappled or otherwise filtered sunlight) or 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. They will flower best when grown in warm, bright, and sheltered locations. During the summer months, they can benefit from some shade during the hottest part of the day, such as midday.

For Amazon lily (Eucharis amazonica), pruning should be done yearly, in late winter. Pruning should be light, involving cutting away spent foliage and any shoots that appear below the basal growth. Light pruning should involve the removal of no more than 25% of the total growth. To promote blooming, additional light pruning can be done in the spring, just after the lily has finished flowering. This should involve the removal of up to 1-third of the strongest shoots.
