Watering
Butterflies Magnolia plants should be watered every 7-10 days. Water thoroughly when you do, so that the soil is moist to a depth of 6 inches. Be careful not to overwater, as this could lead to root rot. Allow the top few inches of soil to dry slightly between waterings. If the soil feels dry to the touch, then it is time to water again. Pruning

No more than 25% of the tree should be removed in any given year. It is not advisable to prune this species hard as it is prone to dieback if excessive pruning is done.
