Watering
Water your Drosanthemum micans sparingly but deeply. During the warmer months of the growing season (April - September), water the plant approximately every 7 - 10 days with 1 - 2 inches of water. During the colder winter months (October - March), only water the plant every 10 - 14 days with ¾ - 1 inch of water. Be careful to not over-water the plant, as this will cause the leaves to go mushy and will eventually kill the plant. Check the soil beforehand to see if it is dry as the plant won’t need water if the soil is still wet.
Light
Drosanthemum micans (also known as "Ice Plants") thrive in sunny locations with partial shade. During the summer months, they should receive full sun for 6 to 8 hours per day. In the cooler months, they should get 4 to 6 hours per day. Plants that are exposed to more sunlight than this may experience sunburn and have weakened stems and leaves. Exposure to strong afternoon sun should be avoided in all seasons.
