Red Sunset® Red Maple is an amazing tree for any landscape. Its foliage turns brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow in the fall and its lush green leaves add a captivating splash of colour to the landscape all season long. This fast-growing deciduous tree can reach heights of up to 50 feet with a spread of 35 feet, and it thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 3−9. Watering
This tree needs regular watering to keep the soil damp, but not soggy. During the summer months, water the Red Sunset Red Maple every 5 to 7 days, giving the soil a deep watering to encourage root growth. In hotter climates, you may need to water more often. During the winter months, water less often, only when the top few inches of soil begin to dry out.
Light
Red Sunset® Red Maple (Acer rubrum 'Franksred') should receive at least 4-5 hours of direct sunlight each day in order to thrive. This species prefers full sun in the morning or late afternoon, but not necessarily at the peak of the day. This plant should not be subjected to harsh, direct sunlight during the heat of the summer; instead, it will benefit from dappled light or some afternoon shade during hotter months.

Pruning
